Exploring with subversion

I did some exploring for things to use, in order to create something interesting with my concept of having the graduation cap, with a price tag instead of a tassel. I began looking for some old photographs of graduations, but images with large numbers of graduates wearing their mortarboards were limited, and the ones I found didn't have an identifiable photographer to give credit/reference to.

This one would have been quite nice to subvert:

All I know about this image however that it was taken in Afghanistan in the 1960s. Other than that I had no other information. Knowing its subject is in Afghanistan however, I had second thoughts about using it because I would like every aspect of my poster to serve a purpose, and if I don't want Afghan graduation because it isn't relevant to my inequality topic, then I shouldn't use it. Still, it was interesting to explore.
